¿Hay alguna conexión en un álbum de Tintín con
Costa Rica?
Tintín ha estado en todos los continentes
excepto Oceanía. En el álbum "Tintín en América", Tintín se opone al
mafioso Al Capone, va a Chicago y Texas, al lago Michigan y al salvaje oeste,
donde se encuentra con los indios de patas negras. Cincuenta años después,
Hergé va a América para encontrarse con los sioux en Dakota del Sur. Ni Tintín
ni Hergé han estado en Costa Rica. Pero, ¿pueden uno o más álbumes de Tintín tener
conexión con Costa Rica? Lo descubriremos.
En "La oreja rota", Tintín es falsamente acusado de terrorismo en la
república bananera de San Theodoros y termina frente al pelotón de fusilamiento. Sin embargo, la ejecución se retrasa
porque justo en ese momento estalla una guerra civil entre las tropas de dos
generales rivales. Costa Rica ha tenido tres guerras civiles. "La Guerra
de Ochomogo" en 1823 entre republicanos e imperialistas. La segunda fue la
"Guerra de la Liga" en 1835 entre San José por un lado y Alajuela,
Heredia y Cartago por el otro. Este último tuvo lugar en 1948. José Figueres
Ferrer con su legión caribeña de setecientos
soldados quien derrocó al gobierno antidemocrático de Rafael Calderón Guardia
por no entregar el poder a Otilio Ulate Blanco, quién había ganado las
elecciones.
En "La estrella misteriosa", un
meteorito provoca un terremoto. Parte de él termina como un meteorito en el mar
ártico y es tan grande que sobresale sobre el agua. Uno o más terremotos se
registran cada año en Costa Rica. El más pesado de su historia ocurrió en septiembre
de 2012 cerca de Sámara en la península de Nicoya ( su magnitud fue de 7.6 en
la escala de Richter). Costa Rica también tiene 2 casos donde los meteoritos
cayeron del cielo. El primero en 1857 en la provincia de Heredia y
recientemente, en 2019 en Aguas Zarcas, San Carlos. Los meteoritos, por
supuesto, no eran tan grandes como en "La estrella misteriosa". En el
caso de Heredia solo fueron unos pocos gramos. Después de todo, se encontraron
restos del meteorito relevantes en 9 países diferentes. En el caso del distrito
de Aguas Zarcas, fueron algunos
meteoritos, siendo el más grande de 1152
gramos.
En "El secreto del unicornio" y
"El tesoro de Rackham el rojo", que sigue, Tintín acompaña al Capitán
Haddock en su búsqueda de su famoso antepasado y un tesoro escondido. Se dice
que esta historia fue influenciada en parte por el libro "Treasure
Island" de Robert Louis Stevenson. Esta novela de aventuras estaba en el
top 3 de los libros favoritos de Hergé. Se dice que "Treasure Island"
se basa en la leyenda de que un tesoro está enterrado en el parque nacional de
Costa Rica, Isla del Coco.
En "Objetivo:la luna" y "Aterrizaje
en la luna" describe la preparación y el viaje espacial a la luna. Tintín
y sus compañeros aterrizan en la luna quince años antes que Neil Armstrong.
Esto aún no lo ha hecho un costarricense. Sin embargo, Franklin Ramón
Chang-Díaz, nacido en Costa Rica, tiene siete vuelos espaciales con el “Space
Shuttle” y tres caminatas espaciales a su nombre.
En "Tintín en el Tíbet", el
periodista se encuentra cara a cara con el Yeti o el terrible muñeco de nieve.
En Costa Rica, este supuesto primate gigante del Himalaya no se puede
encontrar, pero desde 2006 la gente conoce el cangrejo Yeti. Debido a que fue
descubierto en el fondo marino de mil metros de profundidad en la costa de
Costa Rica, este cangrejo recibió el nombre científico de "Kiwa
puravida". El descubrimiento es especial porque es el primer crustáceo
peludo y denso que se haya encontrado. Debido a que el cabello es rubio y todo
el cuerpo es blanco, recibió el apodo de cangrejo Yeti.
Finalmente, en "Las joyas de la
Castafiore", el Capitán Haddock en el Castillo Moulinsart es atormentada
por la soprano Bianca Castafiore, pero principalmente por su loro hablador, que
se sienta a su lado en la sala de estar todo el día. Este loro es un guacamayo,
una de las aves más famosas de Costa Rica. Lo más probable es que veas este ave
llamativa en este país, especialmente la guacamaya roja y verde. Pueden imitar
sonidos muy bien, incluso repetir algunas palabras y son muy ruidosos,
especialmente cuando están solos en una jaula y reciben poca atención.

Kuifje album met Costa Rica ?
Met uitzondering van Oceanië is
Kuifje in elk continent geweest. In het album “Kuifje in Amerika” krijgt Kuifje
het aan de stok met Al Capone, trekt hij naar Chicago en Texas, naar het
Michiganmeer en het Wilde Westen waar hij de Zwartvoetindianen ontmoet. Vijftig
jaar later trekt Hergé naar Amerika om er de Sioux te ontmoeten in
South-Dakota. Noch Kuifje, noch Hergé zijn ooit in Costa Rica geweest. Maar is
er misschien in één of meerdere Kuifje albums een link terug te vinden met
Costa Rica ? We zochten het uit.
In “Het gebroken oor” komt
Kuifje, valselijk beschuldigd van terrorisme voor het vuurpeloton terecht in de
bananenrepubliek San Theodoros. De executie wordt echter opgehouden doordat er
net op dat moment een burgeroorlog uitbreekt tussen de troepen van twee
rivaliserende generaals. Costa Rica
heeft drie burgeroorlogen gekend. “La
Guerra de Ochomogo” in 1823 tussen de republikeinen en de imperialisten. De
tweede was de “Guerra de la Liga” in 1835 tussen San José enerzijds en
Alajuela, Heredia en Cartago anderzijds. De laatste vond plaats in 1948. José
Figueres Ferrer met zijn zevenhonderd man sterke Caribische legioen wierp de
ondemocratische regering van Rafael Calderón Guardia omver omdat zij de macht
niet had overgedragen aan Otilio Ulate Blanco die de verkiezingen gewonnen had.
In “Raket naar de Maan” en
“Mannen op de Maan” beschrijft men de voorbereiding van en de ruimtereis naar
de maan. Kuifje en zijn gezellen landen,
vijftien jaar voor Neil Armstrong, op de maan.
Dit heeft nog geen Costa Ricaan gedaan. Wel heeft de in Costa Rica
geboren Franklin Ramón Chang-Diaz zeven ruimtevluchten met de Space Shuttle en
drie ruimtewandelingen op zijn naam staan.
In “Kuifje in Tibet” komt de
reporter oog in oog te staan met de Yeti of de verschrikkelijke sneeuwman. In
Costa Rica is deze vermeende reusachtige primaat uit de Himalaya niet te
bespeuren maar sinds 2006 kent men er wel de Yeti-krab. Omdat ze in de duizend
meter diepe zeebodem voor de kust van Costa Rica werd ontdekt, kreeg deze krab de
wetenschappelijke naam “Kiwa puravida”. De ontdekking is bijzonder, omdat het
de eerste dichtbehaarde kreeftachtige is die ooit is gevonden. Omdat de
beharing blond is van kleur en het hele lijf spierwit is, kreeg ze de bijnaam
van Yeti-krab.
In “De juwelen van Bianca
Castafiore” tenslotte wordt kapitein Haddock op kasteel Molensloot getergd door
de sopraan Bianca Castafiore maar voornamelijk door haar meegebrachte
praatzieke papegaai die de hele dag naast hem zit in de woonkamer. Deze
papegaai is een ara, één van de meest bekende vogels van Costa Rica. De kans is
groot dat je deze opvallende vogel in dit land te zien krijgt, voornamelijk de
rode en de groene ara. Zij kunnen heel goed geluiden nabootsen, zelfs enkele
woorden nazeggen en zijn zeer luidruchtig, voornamelijk wanneer ze alleen in
een kooi zitten en weinig aandacht krijgen.

un album de Tintin avec le Costa Rica?
Tintin a visité tous les continents sauf
l'Océanie. Dans l'album «Tintin en Amérique», Tintin entre en collision avec Al
Capone, il se rend à Chicago et au Texas, au lac Michigan et au Far West où il
rencontre les Indiens à pieds noirs. Cinquante ans plus tard, Hergé se rend en
Amérique pour rencontrer les Sioux dans le Dakota du Sud. Ni Tintin ni Hergé ne
sont jamais allés au Costa Rica. Mais un ou plusieurs albums de Tintin
peuvent-ils contenir un lien avec le Costa Rica? Nous l'avons recherché.
Dans «L’oreille cassée», Tintin, faussement
accusé de terrorisme se retrouve pour le peloton d'exécution dans la république
bananière de San Theodoros. Cependant, l'exécution est arrêtée car à ce
moment-là une guerre civile éclate entre les troupes de deux généraux rivaux.
Le Costa Rica a connu trois guerres civiles. "La Guerra de Ochomogo"
en 1823 entre républicains et impérialistes. La seconde fut la «Guerra de la
Liga» en 1835 entre San José d'une part et Alajuela, Heredia et Cartago d'autre
part. La dernière a eu lieu en 1948. José Figueres Ferrer et ses sept cents
membres de la légion des Caraïbes ont renversé le gouvernement antidémocratique
de Rafael Calderón Guardia pour n'avoir pas cédé le pouvoir à Otilio Ulate
Blanco, qui avait remporté l'élection.
Dans "Le secret de la Licorne" et
"Le trésor de Rackham le Rouge", qui en découle, Tintin accompagne le
capitaine Haddock dans sa quête de son célèbre ancêtre et d'un trésor caché.
Cette histoire aurait été influencée en partie par le livre " L'île au
trésor " de Robert Louis Stevenson. Ce roman d'aventure figurait dans le
top 3 des livres préférés d'Hergé. "L'île au trésor" serait basée sur
la légende selon laquelle un trésor est enterré dans le parc national
costaricien Isla del Coco.
Dans "Objectif lune" et "On a
marché sur la lune", on décrit la préparation et le voyage spatial vers la
lune. Tintin et ses compagnons atterrissent sur la lune quinze ans avant Neil
Armstrong. Cela n'a pas encore été fait par un costaricien. Cependant, Franklin
Ramón Chang-Diaz, né au Costa Rica, a sept vols spatiaux avec la “Space
Shuttle” et trois sorties dans l'espace à son nom.
Dans "Tintin au Tibet", le
journaliste se retrouve face à face avec le Yeti ou le terrible bonhomme de
neige. Au Costa Rica, ce supposé primate géant de l'Himalaya est introuvable,
mais depuis 2006, les gens connaissent le crabe yéti. Parce qu'il a été découvert
dans les fonds marins de mille mètres de profondeur au large des côtes du Costa
Rica, ce crabe a reçu le nom scientifique de «Kiwa puravida». La découverte est
particulière en ce qu'elle est le premier crustacé velu dense jamais trouvé.
Parce que les cheveux sont blonds et que tout le corps est blanc, elle a reçu
le surnom de crabe yéti.
Enfin, dans «Les bijoux de la Castafiore», le
capitaine Haddock au château de Moulinsart est tourmenté par la soprano Bianca
Castafiore, mais surtout par son perroquet bavard, qui est assis à côté de lui
dans le salon toute la journée. Ce perroquet est un ara, l'un des oiseaux les
plus célèbres du Costa Rica. Il y a de fortes chances que vous voyiez cet
oiseau frappant dans ce pays, en particulier l'ara rouge et vert. Ils peuvent
très bien imiter les sons, même répéter quelques mots et sont très bruyants,
surtout lorsqu'ils sont seuls dans une cage et reçoivent peu d'attention.

Is there a link in a
Tintin album with Costa Rica?

the Blackfoot Indians. Fifty years later, Hergé goes to America to meet
the Sioux in South Dakota. Neither
Tintin nor Hergé have ever been to Costa Rica. But can one or more Tintin
albums contain a link with Costa Rica? We figured it out.
In “The Broken Ear” Tintin,
falsely accused of terrorism, ends up for the firing squad, in the banana
republic of San Theodoros. However, the execution is delayed because just then
a civil war breaks out between the troops of two rival generals. Costa Rica has had three civil wars.
"La Guerra de Ochomogo" in 1823 between republicans and imperialists.
The second was the “Guerra de la Liga” in 1835 between San José on the one hand
and Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago on the other. The last one took place in

toppled Rafael Calderón Guardia's undemocratic government for failing to hand
over power to Otilio Ulate Blanco, who had won the election.
In "The shooting Star",
a meteor causes an earthquake. Part of it ends up as a meteorite in the arctic
sea and is so large that it protrudes above water. One or more earthquakes are
registered every year in Costa Rica. The heaviest in its history occurred in

and "Explorers on the Moon" describes the preparation of and space
travel to the moon. Tintin and his companions land on the moon fifteen years
before Neil Armstrong. This
has not yet been done by a Costa Rican. However, Franklin Ramón Chang-Diaz,
born in Costa Rica, has seven space flights with the Space Shuttle and three
spacewalks to his name.
In "Tintin in Tibet" the reporter
comes face to face with the Yeti or the terrible snowman. In Costa Rica, this
supposed giant Himalayan primate cannot be found, but since 2006 people have
known the Yeti crab. Because it was discovered in the
thousand-meter-deep seabed off the coast of Costa Rica, this crab was given the
scientific name “Kiwa puravida”. The discovery is special in that it is the
first dense hairy crustacean ever found. Because the hair is blond in color and
the whole body is white, she got the nickname of Yeti crab.
Finally, in “The Castafiore
Emerald”, Captain Haddock at Moulinsart Castle is tormented by the soprano
Bianca Castafiore, but mainly by her talkative parrot who spent all day sitting
next to him in the living room. This parrot is a macaw, one of the most famous
birds of Costa Rica. Big chance you will see this striking bird in this
country, especially the red and green macaw. They can mimic sounds very well,
even repeat a few words and are very noisy, especially when they are alone in a
cage and receive little attention.
